Every sheet metal part has its ideal die type. The choice depends on geometry, production volumes and investment. Here's how we think about it.

Progressive dies

The sheet metal advances as a strip through successive stations; with each stroke the part takes shape until the final cut-off.

They are the solution for production cycle automation and high volumes: maximum repeatability and low per-part cost. The heart of the design is the strip layout, which we study to reduce scrap and station count.

Maximum flexibility

Transfer dies

The part is moved from station to station by a handling system, no longer tied to the strip.

Perfect for large parts or geometries with operations that are hard to chain in a progressive die. They offer maximum process flexibility while keeping automation.

Construction simplicity

Block (compound) dies

All operations concentrated in a single stroke, with a simpler, more direct structure.

The choice for smaller batches, prototypes and parts where construction simplicity lowers tooling cost while keeping part quality high.
